Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Points System
At the International Register of Accredited Professionals, we are committed to supporting lifelong learning through our Continuing Professional Development (CPD) framework. Our CPD Points system ensures that professionals across industries can keep their skills and knowledge up-to-date, offering measurable value for all training efforts.
How CPD Points Are Calculated
We use a Time-Based Measurement (TBM) approach to assign CPD Points (aka CPD Hours) to various learning activities conducted by our affiliated training institutes. The criteria for awarding CPD Points are as follows:
Text Content: 1 CPD Point = 15,000 words of reading material.
Live Lectures: 1 CPD Point = One hour of live lecture.
Pre-recorded Video Lectures: 1 CPD Point = One hour of pre-recorded video content.
Hands-on Practical Training: 1 CPD Point = One hour of hands-on practical training.
This structured system allows learners and training providers to easily understand the value of each type of training, whether it is delivered in written, lecture, or practical format. Recognizing the need for rapid and ongoing changes in curriculum, content, and teaching methods, we allow our listed institutions to self-declare their CPD points based on our Time-Based Measurement (TBM) approach.
Note: Exams are not counted towards CPD hours, as our focus is on the time spent actively learning and gaining practical insights.
Importance of CPD
Our CPD Points System ensures that learning activities are consistent, standardized, and reflect the amount of effort and value delivered to participants. By focusing on time-based metrics, we offer transparency and fairness across different types of learning experiences. This approach helps professionals maintain their competence, stay relevant in their industries, and demonstrate their dedication to personal and career growth.
Benefits for Affiliated Institutes and Learners
Affiliated training institutes benefit from a standard CPD Points system, which ensures credibility and enhances the value of their training programs. Learners, on the other hand, can be assured that their learning efforts are rewarded in a manner that supports career advancement and continuous improvement.
